The clients at Glen Alpine sought to transform their backyard rather than relocate for retirement. Faced with an aging concrete pool, they entrusted our team with the creative freedom to either renovate or completely redesign the space. The new design needed to foster a welcoming environment for family and friends, emphasizing year-round entertainment possibilities.
The final layout features an 8m x 3.5m pool and a 3.6m x 2.4m spa, carefully designed to maximise the use of space while enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the backyard. The design incorporates a seamless transition between multiple entertaining zones, highlighted by a raised spa that surprises and delights, revealing a spacious pool area below.
The installation included top-of-the-line Hayward pumps and filtration systems, a Hayward gas heater, and a heat pump, along with Aquaquip lights and spa jets for a luxurious touch. Despite challenging conditions, including restricted access and adverse weather, our team successfully removed the old pool and installed the new features without compromising the project timeline.
Our approach utilised a minimal colour theme to open up the previously congested backyard space, with aged timber screens designed to naturally grey over time, enhancing the project's tones. Innovations included custom concrete BBQ benches, an oversized spa with an overflow to the pool, and a synthetic grass play area, creating a dream backyard tailored to the clients' desires.

From our first meet, greet and sketch out of our plans to the very last day when we jumped into our custom-made concrete pool for the first time; Luke, Carlie and the team at Transform were without fault.
